Tips and Tricks
Dash - Tap forward or backward twice
High Jump - Pull down and then push up in one fluid movement to perform extra high jumps
B1 + B2 - Grab and throw your opponent. Can also be performed in the air.
B2 + B3 - Throw an item (Items can be released from the SonSon characters, see below)
Back + B3 - Guard Crush Counter. Parries an attack and then performs a counter hit
B1 + B2 + B3 - Mega Crush. Useful when cornered and low on health. (Requires one bar of super and sheds all collected Gems)
B1 followed by B1 or B2 in various combinations of up to four presses - Costume Combo (releases Gems)
Ground recovery - After being knocked down, hold forward or backward and press any button to perform an evasive recovery roll. B1 is a short roll, B2 is a medium roll, B3 is a long roll
Air recovery - After being struck (whilst still in the air) the player can recover to land on their feet. Performed by press both B1 + B2, or just B3
Offensive recovery - Press B3 whilst knocked down. If pressed at the right time performs a recovery special move. For example, Ken performs a wake up Dragon Punch
Start button - Taunt your opponent mid fight
Items - SonSon characters flying above the fighters can be struck to release various items such as Gems, explosive balls and health restoring food. A player can hold up to three balls at a time.
Mighty Combos - Can be performed using regular (2 x joystick movements followed by B1 or B2) or simplified (Single joystick movement followed by B3) motions
Extra Costume Colour - Different costume colours can be chosen by selecting a character pressing B1 or B2 or B3. An extra colour can be chosen by pressing two buttons together in any combination - B1 + B2 or B1 + B3 or B2 + B3
