Taito states in the historical retrospective section present in the manual of the Playstation 2 game "Space invaders Anniversary" that the MM-5 (just like the Taito ML-5) was a cheaper version of the Taito MT-5 without the monitor rotation mechanism from the latter model, hence the lower retail price. One promo leaflet presents the cabinet as being easy maintenance while another flyer discloses there were 3 color variants (see below).
