Modifications
The Wei-Ya 3129 chassis is known for having quite a few quirks. Members of the community have researched and/or documented various modifications to improve performance and quality of these chassis:
- Replace the resistor at R111 with a 0.68 ohm, 1W, 350V resistor to enhance vertical overscan. (Archived from the original)
- If you're having issues with pincushion adjustment, check the capacitor at position C76 and ensure it is 1uF, 50V. Also, check continuity from this cap to the adjacent IC10; if there is no continuity, bridge IC10 and C76. (Archived from the original)
- The soldering on these chassis is generally known to be suspect at best; consider reflowing as much as you can with fresh, leaded solder.
- These chassis run hot. Very hot. Consider installing a fan to blow cool air across and over the chassis while in use.
