According to Capcom's published promo material, the sitdown/upright Type R version (along with the cocktail aka Type T) of New Concept cabinet featured a design meant specifically to appeal the younger audiences, but its polyvalence was supposed to have it adopted easily to blend in bars, commercial venues, university lounges as well as business offices, targeting thus also a more mature public. Capcom later revised the New Concept Type R when releasing the New Concept II cabinet.
