JALECO released the Table Pony cocktail in September 1987, was an "evolution based on the Pony Mark II cabinet style", two years after the latter's release. It was available in silver/grey, red and green but this first mkII inspired table was seemingly only available with its 18 inch monitor mounted in Tate (vertical) and appeared as such in all promotional material.

According to interviews in Jaleco's pamphlet Vitamin in '87, the Table Pony's "futuristic" design, metallic grey finish and overall reliability inherited from Mk II cab was meant to have arcade venue owners stick with the cocktail format which was slowly getting out of favor (for the then emerging candy style sitdowns).

Table Pony promotional material claimed the new cocktail series introduced several features which would remain with teh cabinet's later iterations Table Pony 25 and Table Pony 25 VH, namely :

- a more ergonomic & "futuristic" format

- an audio 3.5mm stereo jack to plug in earphones

- 2 x 25W speakers housed in the two ridged black legs supporting the table

- 2 dampeners mounted under the top plate to avoid having it shut close abruptly & the technician getting his fingers injured, said top plate needs to be pressed hard to be closed

- a "one touch" spring-loaded mechanism to service & replace easily the control panel, which Jaleco claimed to be exclusive to their brand
