SNK made the MV25UP-0 6-slot MVS cabinet "available commercially" supposedly circa April 1990 yet unnamed in the press apart from the moniker common to its matching hybrid cocktail counterpart MV25TA-0 : "6-game MVS cabinet", not even mentioning the 25inch monitor in some ads. Then SNK started naming the cabinet 25" MVS-U6 in mid-1991 (circa May) via various ads & announcements mainly via SNK's distributor partner Kawakusu, although some MVS-U_ series models (namely MVS-U2 & MVS-U4) were already freshly launched, so the name was revised afterwards to avoid confusion. The preliminary name MVS-U6 lasted a certain number of months though (still advertised as such in December 1991 see in Gallery) .

NB: Given the earliest Neo Geo games such as Magician Lord have been in location testing at select arcade venues in Japan since January 1990 (beta version), the 25" sitdown cabinet was available already, though not officially "released" yet. Same can be said for the cocktail counterpart MV25TA-0, as well as the SC type wooden MV19SC-0.
