SNK advertised the MVS-U1/25 25" cabinet early on under the denomation "MVS-U1" , the same way in 1991 MVS-U4/25 was in fact advertised initially under the simpler MVS-U4 denomination and MVS-U2/25 just MVS-U2.
The adoption of the final model's name is though to have occured circa 1993. This causes confusion as some owners tend to believe MVS-U1 and MVS-U1/25 are different models when they are strictly the same, as SNK often changed simply nomenclature.
