Presented for the first time at conventions in Japan in 1995, the SNK Neo 50 II projector cabinet, despite its initial similar "Neo 50" branding without mention of a "II" or being a second Neo 50 (1993) model, was a completely redesigned cabinet, dropping the now out of fashion plexi hooded & plywood structure design of the first Neo 50 / Tenga format elaborated alongside manufacturer Daisho Shoukai, for a more minimalistic and modern approach, resulting in a quasi clone of the 1993 SEGA Super Megalo. The branding was soon revised a year later in the 1996 lineup catalog, as new cabinet graphics and later promo material showcased clearly NEO 50 II (see below in Gallery).

Similarly to the earlier model, it not only housed a 2-cart MVS pcb, which could only permit switching between 2 Neo Geo games, but additionally the NEO 50 II could house JAMMA games as well.
