SNK New Version Body Candy 25 was never part of the advertised initial "Candy" lineup which included only 3 models: the initial Candy 18 and the two more recent "New version Body" series cabinets New Version Body Candy 26 and its matching cocktail New Version Body Table Candy 26. Apart from this consideration, the New Version Body 25 existed in Japan and was seen several times on the 2nd hand market, despite no official pamphlets or flyers advertising this exact cabinet version.
New Version Body Candy 25 is often erroneously confused with the more common and officially released New Candy 25, the latter having a different control panel enclosure geometry amongst other notable differences, given New Candy 25 is just a JAMMA compatible & barely revised MVS-U1/25. One reason for said confusion is both New Version Body Candy 25 & New Candy 25 cabinets are commonly reduced to the simpler moniker "Candy 25" by many owners and sellers, while SNK only recognized the New Version Body Candy 25 as being the original "Candy 25" while the New Candy 25 is supposed to be, again according to SNK, the successor to the New Version Body Candy 25 and is always mentioned as the "New" type, never only "Candy 25".
