The compact Sunwise SC-18 is the little brother of the Sunwise Joycome 18 which had a much larger and effective shader hood . Published promo material says SC-18 is compatible with SNK Neo-Geo format -no wonder given the similar model name- . The later Sunwise Joycome 18 will further mimic SNK's SC19-4 & Neo 19.

SC-18's all-in-one bezel/front plate/shader-hood is merely cosmetic and doesn't offer much shade (the shader portion barely protrudes above the monitor) and it is made of ABS plastic. The rest of the cabinet enclosure is made of plywood.

The cabinet rests on two steel feet which are similar to those seen supporting cocktail cabinets, Sunwise explaining said feet are designed to avoid scratching the bottom when displacing the cab.

SC-18 cabinets could be joined in clusters of up to 3 units side by side.

The body enclosure, control panel enclosure and shader/bezel exist solely in white. Panel options are either of 1L6B or 2L12B type, the control panel enclosure for the 2 player type being somewhat similar in shape (but not in dimensions) to Sanwa OOM-8-1, OOM-8-2 & OOM-8-3, which were seen on dagashiya type and cocktail cabinets.

SC-18 can have its 18" monitor rotated to TATE.
