The TRFightstick Mini Cute Clone is a modern reproduction of Capcom's Capcom Cute, produced by TRFightstick.

It appears to have been one of the earliest modern attempts to reproduce the increasingly scarce Capcom cabinet.

Unlike later reproductions, the TRFightstick version was supplied without a CRT monitor or monitor chassis, leaving the purchaser to source and install suitable display hardware.

Production has since ceased.

Manufacturer

The cabinet was produced by TRFightstick.

The reproduction was offered to enthusiasts as a modern alternative to purchasing an original Capcom Cute, examples of which had already become increasingly difficult and expensive to obtain.

The TRFightstick cabinet should not be confused with a genuine Capcom-manufactured cabinet.

Relationship to Capcom Cute

The TRFightstick reproduction follows the general external design of the original Capcom Cute, including:

  • Compact sitdown dimensions
  • Small CRT format
  • Rounded upper cabinet
  • Reproduction control-panel design
  • Reproduction side artwork
  • Rotatable monitor installation

The cabinet was intended to provide the appearance and general experience of the original while using newly manufactured cabinet components.

Monitor

The TRFightstick reproduction was not supplied with a CRT monitor or monitor chassis.

Owners were therefore required to source their own compatible display hardware.

An approximately 18-inch / 47 cm CRT is appropriate to the cabinet format, reflecting the display size of the original Capcom Cute.

The monitor can be installed horizontally or vertically.

There is no dedicated rotation mechanism.

Construction

The cabinet was supplied as a reproduction shell rather than as a complete fully equipped machine.

As a result, surviving examples may differ significantly in:

  • CRT model
  • Monitor chassis
  • Power supply
  • Internal wiring
  • Cooling hardware
  • Control components

Specifications for an individual TRFightstick cabinet should therefore not automatically be assumed to apply to all examples.

Controls

The cabinet uses a compact two-player control panel based on the original Capcom Cute layout.

Control panels may have been drilled or populated differently depending on the owner's requirements.

Replacement Capcom Cute reproduction artwork may be used, although panel drilling should be checked before ordering pre-cut artwork.

Wiring

The cabinet is intended for standard JAMMA arcade hardware.

Because the cabinet was not necessarily supplied as a complete internally equipped machine, wiring arrangements may differ between individual examples.
