Monitor / Chassis Swap Information

The Wei-Ya chassis typically used in the Egret 3 and the Atomiswave SD (Wei-Ya 3129D) is generally considered to be of inferior quality compared to offerings from competitors such as Toshiba and Sanwa. Unfortunately, there is no direct replacement for neither the monitor nor the chassis, but several options have been theorized or successfully completed by community members:

  • The largest PCB board that can be fitted is 550x392x12mm.
  • The cabinet can be upgraded with a sound amp easily as it is wired with the necessary 12v and speaker connections for a Taito Stereo Amp.
